Terms of Service
These terms govern the relationship between CAS Nepal and the schools, staff and guardians who use the platform.
Last updated: 21 August 2026
1.Who these terms apply to
CAS Nepal ("we", "the platform") provides a continuous assessment system for primary schools in Nepal. These terms apply to the school that holds the account (the "School"), to every user account issued under it — organisation administrators, teachers and guardians — and to anyone browsing the public website.
Accounts are never self-registered. A School applies for access, we verify it, and credentials are issued manually. By signing in, the user accepts these terms on behalf of themselves and, where applicable, the School.
2.Account responsibility
- Each School is responsible for the accounts created under its organisation, including who receives them and when they are revoked.
- Credentials are personal. Users must not share passwords, and must change the temporary password issued at first sign-in.
- The School must notify us promptly if it believes an account has been compromised.
- We may suspend an account or an entire organisation where there is credible evidence of misuse, non-payment or a risk to student data.
3.Acceptable use
The platform holds records about children. Users must not:
- enter data about a student they are not responsible for assessing, or attempt to access another organisation's records;
- upload evidence files containing content unrelated to a student's learning, or content that is unlawful, abusive or harmful;
- export or share student records outside the legitimate purposes of teaching, reporting and guardian communication;
- probe, scan or attempt to bypass the platform's access controls, or use automated tools to scrape data;
- resell, sublicense or white-label the platform without a written agreement.
4.School data and ownership
The School retains ownership of the student, staff and assessment data it enters. We process that data only to operate the platform for the School, as described in the Privacy Policy and Data Policy. We do not sell School data, and we do not use identifiable student data to train third-party models.
5.Service availability
We aim to keep the platform available at all times but do not guarantee uninterrupted service. Planned maintenance is scheduled outside Nepali school hours wherever practical. Access may be interrupted by factors outside our control, including connectivity, power supply and third-party infrastructure failures.
Features may change as the CDC assessment guidelines evolve. We will not remove a feature that a School depends on for statutory reporting without reasonable notice.
6.Fees
Where a paid plan applies, fees, billing period and included limits (students, teachers, storage) are set out in the School's written agreement with us. Unpaid accounts may be moved to read-only access before suspension, so that a School never loses access to records it needs for reporting without warning.
7.Limitation of liability
The platform is a record-keeping and calculation tool. Professional judgement about a student's achievement remains with the teacher and the School. We are not liable for decisions taken on the basis of data entered into the platform.
To the extent permitted by law, our total liability arising out of or relating to the service is limited to the fees paid by the School in the twelve months preceding the claim. We are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, including loss of reputation or anticipated savings.
8.Termination
A School may terminate at any time with written notice. On termination we provide a full export of the School's data and then delete it according to the retention schedule in the Data Policy. We may terminate for material breach of these terms, or for conduct that puts student data at risk, with notice where circumstances allow.
9.Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of Nepal. Any dispute that cannot be resolved in good faith between the parties is subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Kathmandu, Nepal.
10.Changes and contact
We may update these terms. Material changes are communicated to organisation administrators before they take effect. Questions about these terms: hello@casnepal.com.
